(Half day visit of Dallol depression that includes the geysers, fumaroles and traditional salt working area and the drive continues to Mekele.
Half day, visit of all the Dallol vicinity that includes salt plain working area, Lake Asale (The Salt Lake), Dallol active colorful hot brine springs and fumaroles’ deposits of sulphur and phosphorous and salt dooms. We will have PICNIC Lunch in one of the shady and blow of air place. Also witness the striking age dating CAMEL CARAVAN which passes through the small village of Ahmed Ela and follow to some place walk- ing and talking the experience of the workers which leads the camels. It is the site of a dry salt lake from which Ethiopians since time immemorial have obtained their amoles, or bars of salt , used both for consumption and , not long ago , as a regular currency. Mined by the Afar people for at least a millennium and a half, the salt is loaded on camels and taken to the highlands, where it is still in considerable demand and fetches a good price. After lunch at the camp the drive continues to Mekele which takes about 3 Hours to cover the 220Km .Arrive at Mekele and trans- ferred to the Airport for the flight back to Addis in the Evening flight.
